Cheap and dangerous. How Western countries are creating their own analogs of "Shahed"
Countries are developing cheap attack drones that can be used on a massive scale without compromising defense budgets
For a long time, the military doctrine of Western countries has relied on high-precision, long-range weapons. The Russian-Ukrainian war and other modern conflicts have shown the main flaws in this approach: arsenals are rapidly depleting, and there is no way to replenish them quickly.
Based on the new experience, many countries have begun to develop low-cost attack drones that can be used on a massive scale without much damage to defense budgets. For example, the United States has developed the LUCAS drone – an analog of the Shahed, which is ready for mass production.
LIGA.net has prepared an overview of the most notable alternatives to the "Shahed" created by Western countries.
