From carts to orbital docking. How India managed to become a leading space power
India is demonstrating increasingly serious ambitions in the foreign arena. The South Asian state started an armed conflict with Pakistan, and before that it demonstrated serious success in the space sphere. It has docked satellites in orbit and landed the Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft on the lunar surface. Thus, India has become the fourth country to successfully implement these highly complex missions.
On Saturday, May 17, India launched its rocket into space for the 101st time. It was intended to launch the EOS-09 remote sensing satellite into orbit, but the attempt was unsuccessful. This launch was the 63rd for the four-stage, 44.5-meter-high PSLV launch vehicle. However, it was only the third failure in the 32-year history of the rocket.
What makes these achievements even more impressive is the fact that not so long ago the Indian Aerospace Agency used thrust to deliver a communications satellite. Now they are planning to build an orbital station and land astronauts on the moon.
