In the fifth year of full-scale war, Ukrainian arms producers have gained hope for reopening exports, which the government blocked in 2022 due to martial law.

"It's time to launch the export of Ukrainian weapons – the types that we have a surplus of," said on October 6, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. According to the president, Ukraine's potential in the production of drones and missiles will reach $35 billion in 2026.

Exports should start as early as November, Zelenskyy believes. "By the end of the year, we should reach 50% of Ukrainian-made weapons in the defense of our state," he expects.

The importance of opening up exports was advocated to the authorities, in particular, by the Technological Forces of Ukraine association, which includes more than 80 private military equipment manufacturers.

"If exports are opened, a single formula for determining the surplus of weapons should be developed, and all manufacturers should be guaranteed equal access to the possibility of selling their products abroad," the list of "red lines for exports" emphasized by the TSU reads.
