Over 99% of bank cards in Ukraine are issued by only two payment systems: Visa and Mastercard. And these companies have fierce competition: in 2024, Mastercard issued 51.5% of cards, Visa – 48.2%, and in April 2025, Visa went around its competitor by 1%: the number of its cards in circulation increased to 69.22 million.
