The Ministry of Defense is developing standards for drones and their ammunition
The Ministry of Defense is creating unified standards for military drones, ammunition, and modules for them, which will help to scale effective models faster. This was stated by Deputy Defense Minister for Technology Valeriy Churkin in an interview with DOU.
According to him, about 600 UAVs have been approved for use in the units, but this complicates maintenance, training, logistics, and modernization.
The Ministry of Defense is introducing standards for the effective operation of drones at the front. The goal is to reduce the variety of models to a few dozen to simplify maintenance, training and modernization of equipment.
Churkin also said that Russian "chessmen" have become more resistant to electronic warfare. The Russians have improved their drones by increasing the number of communication channels and adding computer vision-based targeting systems. AI is not yet used, but it is only a matter of time.
Ukraine is working on the mass production of FPV drones with homing, which has already increased the effectiveness of the strike by 30%. A new drone with a range of up to a thousand kilometers is currently being prepared for launch.
- Ukraine is looking for opportunities to finance weapons production abroad, according to the interview. The first agreements under the Build with Ukraine program are to be signed this summer.
