DTEK, ArcelorMittal, Eco-Optima, and BGV plan to build small nuclear reactors. What could go wrong?
Dozens of countries are developing them, including the US, Britain and Japan, but so far only China and Russia have launched them.
"Ukraine can become a leader in the field of small modular reactors," – considers Olena Pavlenko, president of the DiXi Group think tank. In addition to the state-owned Energoatom, private companies DTEK, ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih, Eco-Optima, and BGV have already announced plans to build them in Ukraine.
"Our nearest plans include the implementation of a 300 MW project, and we are ready to invest in it", – said LIGA.net Zinoviy Kozytskyi, founder of Eco-Optima.
