DTEK, ArcelorMittal, Eco-Optima, and BGV plan to build small nuclear reactors. What could go wrong?
Dozens of countries are developing them, including the US, Britain and Japan, but so far only China and Russia have launched them.
"Ukraine could become a leader in the field of small modular reactors," says Olena Pavlenko, President of the think tank DiXi Group. In addition to the state-owned Energoatom, private companies DTEK, BGV, Eco-Optima, and ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih in cooperation with Energoatom have also announced plans to deploy them in Ukraine.
"Our nearest plans include the implementation of a 300 MW project, and we are ready to invest in it", – said LIGA.net Zinoviy Kozytskyi, founder of Eco-Optima.
