The Swedish JAS 39 Gripen may soon join the American F-16 and French Mirage 2000 in the Ukrainian Armed Forces fleet. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed an agreement with Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson that provides for the purchase of up to 150 of these aircraft.

Discussions about obtaining them began even before the full-scale invasion. There was an opinion among experts that these multitasking fighters are even more relevant for the Defense Forces than the aforementioned models.
