The AI-generated track "Walk My Walk" by Breaking Rust has taken the first place on the US Billboard Country Digital Songs Sales chart for the first time. In a month, the song has garnered more than three million streams on Spotify and topped the US Spotify Viral 50 chart. This was reported by New Music Express.

The identity of Breaking Rust's creator has not yet been revealed, but the artist's official TikTok account has almost 200,000 followers, and "Walk My Walk" has appeared in more than 150,000 videos. Another track from the project, "Livin' on Borrowed Time," reached the fifth spot.

According to a Deezer survey, 97% of listeners cannot distinguish between songs created by AI and real ones. Earlier this year, the Velvet Sundown AI band made a name for itself by garnering about 400,000 listeners on Spotify in less than a month. Later it turned out that it was an experiment - its creator admitted that he had created the project to see if listeners would notice the difference.

Xania Monet became the first AI singer to sign a million-dollar contract and hit the Billboard charts. She was created by Mississippi poet Telisha Jones, who says she perceives Monet as a real person. The success of the AI singer has caused a wave of criticism from artists such as Kehlani, SZA, and Mac DeMarco.

As a reminder, ElevenLabs has introduced an AI service that creates tracks based on user descriptions.
