Apple warns of delays in the release of new features in the EU

Apple has released a statement on the impact of the European Digital Markets Act (DMA) on users in the EU. The company emphasized that the regulator's requirements are forcing it to change its approach to products and delay the launch of some features.
In particular, in Europe, the launch of Live Translation with AirPods, iPhone Mirroring between iPhone and Mac, and map updates with routes and places visited have been postponed. Apple explains that it has not yet found a way to securely adapt these tools for third-party services, as required by the DMA.
Apple points out that the new DMA rules create additional risks for users, including malicious apps and unreliable payment systems. The company criticizes the requirement to provide access to sensitive data, such as Wi-Fi history and notification content.
The corporation will continue to work on adapting its services to the requirements of the law and called on regulators to assess the impact of the DMA on users in the EU.
As a reminder, after installing iOS 26, users will no longer be able to return to iOS 18. Apple unveils AirPods Pro 3 with real-time translation for $249.
