OpenAI has introduced the Apps SDK platform, which allows users to add third-party applications directly to ChatGPT. Now users will be able to interact with familiar services such as Spotify or Canva directly while chatting with the chatbot.

Users can control applications by voice or text, for example, ask Spotify to select music for a party or instruct Canva to create a poster layout. After a one-time account connection, the selected service works directly within ChatGPT.

The new features are already available to all authorized ChatGPT users in the Free, Go, Plus, and Pro versions outside the EU. The first partners are Booking.com, Canva, Coursera, Expedia, Figma, Spotify, and Zillow. They are available in English in the regions where their services operate. OpenAI said it plans to launch apps for EU users later this year.

Developers can already create their own apps thanks to the new Apps SDK, which is currently available in preview version.

As a reminder, OpenAI has allowed to buy goods directly in ChatGPT . The new ChatGPT feature will be able to provide tips and reminders to users.
