Developers of Ukrainian Bullet jet UAV showed footage of first hits

Ukrainian developers tested the Bullet jet UAV. Its main task is to intercept and destroy enemy strike and reconnaissance drones, but it can also be used against helicopters and other medium and large aircraft, the Military Journal Telegram channel reports.

Although the developers, for obvious reasons, do not reveal the exact tactical and technical characteristics of the device, the video demonstrates its ability to accelerate to at least 130 km/h.

Obviously, this is not enough to catch up with a large strike drone: the Bayraktar has a cruising speed of more than 200 km/h. However, it is most likely that the published video does not demonstrate the true potential of the Bullet, whose jet engine is capable of accelerating to much higher speeds.

The cost of the Bullet complex, according to the Military Journal, is 5.8 million hryvnias or $130,000 and includes one control station and five drones.

The question of finding a cheap and effective way to shoot down enemy reconnaissance drones became even more acute after the Russians mastered the tactic of sending "eyes" deep into the rear to guide ballistic missiles. Moreover, with the arrival of the F-16, they will become a priority target for the Russian military. One of the most promising options is the use of smaller drones. There have already been cases of knocking down fire spotters with the help of FPV and several interceptor projects have already been presented, but they never went into production.
