Ukrainian hackers, who may have ties to the Cyber Security Department of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), attacked the data center used by Russia's military-industrial complex, oil and gas, and telecommunications sectors, according to Liga.Tech.

Over 10,000 companies in the Russian defense industry, oil and gas, metallurgical, aerospace complexes, and telecommunications giants used the OwenCloud.ru cloud service. Among them were companies such as Ural Civil Aviation Plant, NPO RUBIN (part of the holding JSC Ruselectronics), Ural Plant Spectechniks, Gazprom, Transgaz, Lukoil, Rosneft, Nornickel, Rostelecom, Telecom, and MegaFon.

Sources report that this was a joint operation of the Ukrainian hacker group BLACKJACK and the SBU's cyber department. They destroyed over 300TB of data including 400 virtual and 42 physical servers. These servers stored internal documentation, backups, and other programs that allowed customers to control production processes at the companies remotely.
