The Google Maps service has returned the ability to add businesses to Ukraine, the Minister of Digital Transformation, Mykhailo Fedorov, said.

The ability to use Google Business and add new objects to maps was blocked for Ukraine in April 2022 for security reasons. Ukrainians could not post reviews, ask questions, or add information about their business.

After working together with the team of the Ministry of Digital Transformation, Google restored access to the function, the minister said in a statement. Now users will have the opportunity to see up-to-date information about Ukrainian businesses. Owners of relocated businesses can change their location on their Google Business profile and attract customers to their new location.

Google will apply special spam control to ensure that the site is used as intended. Services will not be available in temporarily occupied territories and in regions where active hostilities are ongoing.
